A couple of weeks ago Bogart happened to mention that a strange figure had appeared on one of the main routes into Bollington village. Apparently there is a bit of a
green hill raised grass verge, which every Easter is used by one of the churches to erect three wooden crosses. For the last two years, once they’ve gone, this figure has arrived. No one seems to know who’s responsible, but I like to think it’s a group of pagans seizing the opportunity for a bit of Beltane fun. To me, nothing signifies resurrection and everlasting life more than the irrepressible energy of Nature in the springtime.
Thanks to Bogart for the photos!
