As promised a quick update on my dowsing progress! You remember that I sent off for a pair of Dowsing rods from a company advertising on Ebay. They only took a couple of days to arrive and I am really pleased with them. They are identical to those Chris brought for us to use on the Dowsing Day, so I can heartily recommend the Open Mind Centre if you want to get your own. These are the ‘sturdy’ rods, John also does a lighter weight pair and a pair with flourescent glow in the dark paint for use at night (useful if you want someone else to see what you are feeling) The rods I bought are here, a bargain for a fiver all in.
I started off by ‘programming’ the rods, that is I had them look for things I knew were there, like the hosepipe on the lawn, or where the patio started. To begin with they were about four feet out with the responses which was a bit alarming but with practice we soon got used to each other and now they are fine. I have been dowsing for tree auras in the garden, which I managed, and for any earth energy lines which drew a blank. I can’t believe there aren’t any, so I’m inclined to think the rods need a bit of help to understand what one is. I will persevere and see if we can reach an agreement about what we’re looking for!
After our Beltane ceremony I asked them to find our circle and they were spot on. I also found a huge energy spiral to the side of it which I will spend more time on next festival. I got distracted by the huge picnic last week, not to mention the heat.
I am also planning to take the rods to work to see if we can pinpoint the site of an old Bronze Age tumulus that the Victorians decided to completely level when the cemetery was built, and also the line of a culvert which we know passes under the main drive somewhere. I’ll let you know how I get on!
