After bemoaning our lack of mistletoe on Christmas Eve, what should I find when walking the dogs on the day itself – a large sprig of the stuff under a hedge! Much more than I could normally stretch to if truth be told, although it has now been rather depleted by the youngest, who is carrying on the family Tradition at her own student gaff. Still I can replace the dried up bunch from last year, so thank-you whoever arranged that!!

Wish I could find some! Will have to speak to some higher intelligence, i reckon, because our local florist is lacking, and our local forests seem to have dried up this year.
Moaning about mistletoe – Gwas.
Yes, finding that mistletoe really cheered me up!
Funny how there doesn’t seem to be much wild mistletoe up here. I can only think of one bunch I have seen growing locally and it is on a lombard poplar of all things!
One thing I love about taking the M5 is seeing all the huge balls of mistletoe hanging from the trees. Spotting the first bunch has all the excitement of the first glimpse of the Blackpool Tower from the car as a kid!
